I am visiting my brother and his wife in Calgary and we all are sharing Thanksgiving with friends of theirs and their two older kids. It will be a nice group of people. My brother & wife are house sitting at their friend's home (very nice!). Anyway, we are enjoying these people's wonderful home and all their special conveniences.
Now, on with the Spa Day. I am NOT a hot tub person. Could it be the bathing suit that I have to get into? Whatever, I decided to just 'go for it' since it was just family around. First of all this morning, I had a wonderful coffee with my brother. Then we had a light breakfast of oatmeal (my favourite) and enjoyed some 'small talk'. Next I put on my 'workout' clothes and I headed for the work out room that these people enjoy. I was able to get 'in the groove' on the treadmill and burnt off a number of calories (not going to share how many) and then did a 5 minute attempt on their stairclimber. Not so good. I could not get into any sort of rhythm and almost broke my hip twice when I decided to stop myself but the machine pedals kept going!
Anyway, that finished, I moved on to the hot tub. I had to get into my bathing suit which is always an ugly experience for me. However, I know my brother loves me even if I have a few extra pounds. Anyway, I got into the tub and it is located outside facing a beautiful ravine with the blue sky and white sirrus clouds in abundance! Have I ever told you how much I love clouds! Anyway, Ken and I chatted for awhile in the tub and threw the ball for Alley, the dog, to catch . She could not get enough of catching the ball but she has arthritis so WE have to decide when she has 'had enough'. She kept bringing the ball back to us and dropping it into the hot tub. I am sure her breath smelled like chlorine! I hope she does not get sick as the ball is definitely absorbing the water! It looks really cool when you throw it and it splashes out the water! She doesn't seem to mind picking it up either!
Anyway, next came the shower to wash off the sweat! Oh yes, I did sweat in the water. No wonder they have to use chlorine! Anyway, I had brought my own shampoo and condition but I noticed that they had supplied (or accidentally left) some and I decided to use theirs! The conditioner was a brand that I have never heard of. One of those ones you see in Salon's that are too expensive to buy and you wouldn't even if you had the $$. I used a bit in the palm of my hand and enjoyed the wonderful fragrance. I can honestly say it made my hair silky and I have been experiencing 'whiffs' of it as I turn my head back and forth. It is delightful! I took my time getting ready. It is always a little bit longer in someone else's place as you have to find the plug ins, the best light, placing your makeup kit, the hair dryer and curling iron. You name it...it just takes longer. However, I knew we were on a relaxed schedule.
Once I was done, I headed upstairs to talk with my brother & wife. Very relaxed. We now are getting supper organized. I will have to get back to you on that as we are definitley going to 'put on the ritz' for our company. Everything is going well...sun is shining...clouds are lazily floating in the sky....Yes...we have lots to be thankful for!.

Just a glimpse of what heaven will be like! And I bet God wants us to have more of the kind of days you describe rather than our tyranny of the urgent kind of days.
