We're trying to make up our mind about a few activities we need to do this fall. One being whether or not we make a big 'to-do' about my hubby's upcoming 65th. I know he would rather be farming than the 'center of attention' at a party for him. He likes to get his attention when he's in control - not the other way around. So, we may just be having supper together with friends or even just ourselves. I am suggesting that 'the two of us' go to Jasper or Banff for a few days and just make this a special memory. It wasn't that he said NO, more like, 'good idea but maybe ..." Not the response I was hoping for but ... it's not my birthday. I am not taking it personally, well, at least I am trying not to.
Our daughter just told us that her in-laws are coming to their place for Christmas so that means we'll have to 'find something else to do' this year. Not quite 'like that' but it still works out to that. Perhaps we will still go to the Island or even head south. I guess now we can do our own thing. We'll have to see what that translates into.
Thanksgiving is in Calgary this year with my brother and wife. I had hoped that harvest would be over and we'd both be going but it looks like I might be travelling there alone. That will be ok (or will have to be) but I was hoping that we'd be going there together.
Well, I guess I should go and try to plan a party - even though I was told not to. If he decides we should go away (just the two of us), then the party's definitely off! Then again, it can't hurt to celebrate more than once can it?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving with Ken and Wendy at their new place. Very nice. We just arrived in Chilliwack and will be here for about 10 days before heading across the border.
