Bringing in the Sheaves
By: Knowles Shaw, 1874
Based on Psalm 126:6
Refrain:
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves;
Bringing in the sheaves, bringing in the sheaves,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Sowing in the morning, sowing seeds of kindness,
Sowing in the noontide and the dewy eve;
Waiting for the harvest, and the time of reaping,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Sowing in the sunshine, sowing in the shadows,
Fearing neither clouds nor winter’s chilling breeze;
By and by the harvest, and the labor ended,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Going forth with weeping, sowing for the Master,
Though the loss sustained our spirit often grieves;
When our weeping’s over, He will bid us welcome,
We shall come rejoicing, bringing in the sheaves.
Based on Psalm 126:6
(5) Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy.
(6)He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.
Pretty interesting, eh? I think I added the link but I have not done it before so if it is not working, try: http://youtube.com/watch?v=u67Lb1RyXTU
Brining in the Sheaves, Tennessee Ernie Ford - or whoever you might like to hear sing it!

Well, I just finished listening to Tennessee Ernie Ford. Thanks for the lyrics - I mainly knew only the chorus too but the verses are really good aren't they? It also brought back memories of my Mom watching the Tennesse Ernie Ford Show and I wasn't always very excited about that! I just tried singing with him and he sure has a deep voice and I am alto!
