Happy Anniversary with Love

Today would be mom & dad's 72nd wedding anniversary. Dad passed away in 1992 and mom in 2001. Hard to believe as it seems just like yesterday that we were talking and laughing! So many memories to sift through.

Happy Anniversary! Love you both so much...

Always sweethearts...

Dem Bones, Dem Bones

Busy day today. Did one coat of stain on the upper deck this morning, then showered, went to church and ironed tablecloths (17 of them) for our function tomorrow (all day seminar). Then came home and did another coat of stain on the top deck, while John power washed the lower deck and cleaned up the flower beds. We are both stiff, sore puppies! Off to Spring dinner event tonite. Never a dull moment!

Nostalgia

I`m feeling a bit nostalgic as I just sold my comforter bed set for $25.00 It was the one I bought a few years ago but I loved the colours and the flowers on it. However, IT has been in a plastic wrap for the past 2 years as I purchased a new cream and taupe set and love it too. It has just been occupying space in the cupboard and today I was clearing out a bunch of stuff - it included!  I put a picture of the set on Kijiji and sold it within half an hour. Obviously, I charged too little!  However, the gentleman came from the North Side of town all the way to the South end of town, so he obviously thought it was a good deal too.

Now, if the other things will just move, I will be happy....anyone interested in the following::

Had some work done in our yard this past week. Took down two tall willow trees which were continuously shedding on our neighbors property and covering their roofs and their own trees. So...it was time for them to go.
Quite a procedure followed...

Before
After
And all that went inbetween...

Finding the right tree to center on and hang from...

Harder than it looks...

Pogo Sticks
It's lonely at the top ...

Lots of wood for the neighbor's firepit

A lot heavier than they looked...

Down to grinding the stump
Removing all the grindings...

Clean & neat - ready to start over again!

This coming week we are having the blue spruce trimmed in our front yard - decided to keep it for another year. Hope it is worth the money to get it trimmed back....
