Close Call

We're cutting down those willows in the backyard tomorrow. However, we got a call tonite saying they could not make it due to some problems with their truck. We were very disappointed and said so, but...hey, things happen. Anyway, they said they would try to arrange for Fri or Sat. As it turns out, patience pays off. They called back half hour later, saying they made some other arrangements and will be here at 7:30 a.m.

I am feeling bad for my trees but my hubby says they have to go. Oh well, guess we will be getting lots of sun from the west beginning tomorrow night!

Spring cleanup

The sun was out for most of the morning but it has since clouded over. I hope that does not mean rain...but...everyone else is getting rain or snow so why should we be any different. I am happy with the clouds if I have any say in the matter (which I don't)!

I was pulling out the old stems from last year's plants and giving the new ones opportunity to see some sunshine. It looks much cleaner now. I had to be 'prompted' by my hubby who said flowers were not his responsibility. Guess that leaves me. BBQuing is his responsibility but...I cleaned up the bbq - is that the same thing?

We are going to a fundraiser tonite. Should be fun if we get what we are bidding on. I guess there is always something to spend our money on.

We are thinking about taking down the willows in our backyard. They are also in the yards of two of our neighbors who thankfully don't complain but still get lots of branches dropping onto their property. They are about 50 feet high and their trunks are about four feet around so it is a bigger job than we can do. It will be pretty open in the backyard after they come down. Will have to think of some other tree to fill in the spaces - or maybe our neighbors will to plant something to have some privacy!

Beyond Wonder

Another Easter production has come and gone. This year Easter is later than usual. Even so, we had a snowfall last night and this morning it is white. Not a lot of snow but enough to cover the grass and trees. Thankfully, no buildup of snow on the road at all.

Decisions as to whether we drive out to the coast for Easter or take a few days to relax and 'catch our breath' after a busy few weeks. Lots to do here in prep for Spring but we will see what the weather looks like over the next few days, both here and in the mountains.

Monday night was official pictures of the musical so I took a few while they were 'setting up'. What an enjoyable time - hard work by everyone - but...enjoyable and fulfilling. Unfortunately, one big guy stood in the front of me so I had to include his head shot!

Sick, sick, sick

I am sicker than a dog with a terrible cough and achy body! Just in time for our Easter musical production. Tried going to work yesterday...haha..ended up coming home at noon. Cough, cough, cough!! Went to bed...you can't get enough zzzzzz to feel better either! My eyes especially are sore..when I look left or right or straight ahead or up or down. Best when eyelids are down!

Appears to be a nice day outside but ... who cares. I am headed back to bed!

Slipping Away

Time is going by too fast. One week slips into another before I even recognize it and then before you know it....a month has gone by. Someone asked today about some thing we did awhile ago and I immediately said 'it was last year', then corrected myself and said 'no, maybe it was two years ago' and before I knew it, I said 'it was 5 years ago'. Bam! time was gone! Eaten up!

I think I am in the phenomenom of time lapse which my parents talked about. We are at that age where 'it was just yesterday' (or so it seems). I don't like it! Not one bit!

My brother is turning 70 this year, and my other brother is 67! They are older than me but every time they turn a year over, so do I! I reluctantly turn those years over now! It used to be I could hardly wait to be one year older! Something like the grandkids now! They like getting birthdays and getting older. We do not!

I think this is the last year that I want to celebrate! I certainly enjoy the gifts, the dinners, the cards. But...I think this is it! Don't bother next year. I am staying the same age from now on. Don't even ask how old I am as I won't be giving it up! If you forget, too bad!

Not sure what brought this 'rave' on tonite but ...this is all I have to say about that!
